I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
Every other Tuesday beginning this week and ending on election day, we are hosting prayer conference calls to pray for our candidates, our nation and our churches during the election season. During each 15-minute lunchtime call, participants will be led in Christ-centered prayer for the effect the divisive election season is having on our congregations; the ways in which our congregations can offer healing to the communities around us; and wisdom, emotional health and spiritual health for the candidates and their staffs.
The first call will be led by members of the Center for Christian Civics team, with subsequent calls also featuring pastors and ministry leaders from around the country. Let us know you're interested and we'll send you the dial-in information and keep you up-to-date on leaders and topics.
