Our First Office Provides New Ministry Opportunities

This month, the Center for Christian Civics finally found our first ministry home. We are excited to be listed among the very first tenants at The Yard, a shared office and co-working site on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC. The Yard provides organizations of all sizes with reception and facilities management, event venues, and offices spaces that range in scope from single cubicles to multi-department suites to private, 20-person bullpens. Their location and amenities are a great fit for our organization, and we are excited about them being our home base as we grow our team in the coming months and years.

One of the most important advances that we are able to make in our mission thanks to this change is that we are now able to host our own events. Partnering with churches, schools and other local ministries remains a cornerstone of our mission and strategy, and we will be pursuing those opportunities prayerfully and aggressively, especially in this vital mid-term year. But basing our operations out of The Yard means we now have ongoing access to classrooms and event spaces that can accommodate 15 to 150 people—facilities that allow us to supplement our external programming with classes, pilots, conferences and other events that can be planned and executed on faster timelines. We ended Q1 with our first-ever self-hosted event, and have a mind-boggling FIVE MORE scheduled for April. (More on all of these, including two exclusive invitations, to come.) These smaller (often closed-door) events are allowing us to raise our visibility and, even more importantly, refine our curriculum in front of trusted friends, partners and supporters in ways that weren't available to us when we had to exclusively rely on partner churches to host classes and events.
