This free event, hosted by Grace Downtown church in Washington, DC, includes a panel discussion with Center for Christian Civics co-founder Rick Barry and two Body Politic contributors.

When it comes to our work lives, it can be difficult to find contentment and rest in God. In our hyper competitive culture, we may feel like we’re not accomplishing enough or advancing in our careers as quickly as we imagined or as fast as our peers. Have you ever felt restless in your professional life; like you’re perpetually waiting for the ideal job opportunity, waiting to be promoted in your current job, waiting to be recognized, waiting to lead, or waiting to finally showcase your true talents?

After all, it took Jesus thirty years before he started his public ministry. And even then, that’s not to say his work as a carpenter prior to that time was in vain. Join us for our next Faith & Work event: The Waiting Room. Together, we will explore the struggle of waiting and how to trust in God’s timing for issues affecting our work lives through a brief lecture, personal reflections through a panel of speakers and small group discussion.

About Faith & Work: We believe that the gospel transforms every area of our life. So if we spend the majority of our waking hours working, then how can we, as a Grace DC community, think through, reflect upon, and work out the implications for how the gospel affects and renews our daily work lives? We define work holistically to mean any endeavor to which you apply your particular talents.
